CHIEF OPERATIONS OFFICER

This position will include the following job specifications/requirements:

● Oversight of The Five Foundation’s operations, donor engagement and reporting, finance and external consultant engagement (including financial, legal and others as required).
● Clear passion and in-depth understanding of gender equality from an African perspective, preferably with specific, in-depth knowledge of the issue of FGM
● Act as a credible, inspiring and enthusiastic spokesperson for The Five Foundation in engagements such as donor relations and networking events
● Implement The Five Foundation’s advocacy strategy as agreed by trustees, working closely with consultants within The Five Foundation ● Manage locally-based consultants on ongoing basis within The Five Foundation
● Extensive experience and proven track record in leading social change projects from an African and locally-led context
● Proven track-record of inspiring existing donors and attracting new donors to sensitive issues such as FGM
● Exceptional organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks as required in a start-up environment
● Excellent time management skills and flexibility necessary to deliver the urgent strategies of The Five Foundation in an impactful way
● Ability to use and communicate the growing evidence of what works to end FGM, galvanising a global grassroots movement to end it by 2030.
● Support media relations, working with CEO to publicly communicate the need for urgent action to end FGM through increased prioritisation and leveraging of new resources.

CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

This position will include the following job specifications/requirements:

● Clear passion and in-depth understanding of gender equality from an African perspective, preferably with specific, in-depth knowledge of the issue of FGM
● Act as a credible, inspiring and enthusiastic spokesperson for The Five Foundation in external engagements such as media interviews, donor relations and political networking
● Implement The Five Foundation’s advocacy strategy as agreed by trustees, working closely with consultants within The Five Foundation
● Inspire and lead other internal consultants on ad-hoc basis within The Five Foundation
● Extensive experience and proven track record in leading social change projects from an African and locally-led context
● Proven track-record of inspiring existing donors and attracting new donors to sensitive issues such as FGM
● Credible international speaker at high level gender equality and other related events as required
● Excellent time management skills and flexibility necessary to deliver the urgent strategies of The Five Foundation in an impactful way
● Excellent networker, with proven track record of building partnerships with internal and external stakeholders as necessary to ensure successful implementation of strategies
● Ability to use and communicate the growing evidence of what works to end FGM, galvanising a global grassroots movement to end it by 2030.

AFRICA CONSULTANT

This independent contractor position will include the following job specifications/requirements:

● Clear passion and in-depth understanding of gender equality from an African perspective, preferably with specific, in-depth knowledge of the issue of FGM
● Act as a credible, inspiring and enthusiastic spokesperson for The Five Foundation in external engagements such as media interviews, donor relations and political networking
● Excellent time management skills and flexibility necessary to deliver the urgent strategies of The Five Foundation in an impactful way
● Coordinate with The Five Foundation team to lead engagement with grassroots partners in one or more country-specific locations, liaising with frontline activist partners, co-ordinating co-creation of strategies to end FGM and other forms of violence against girls.
● Support all relevant efforts to ensure that advocacy to end FGM in the relevant locations is underpinned by evidence-based strategies – including but not only limited to the Population Council’s 2021 report
● Support local groups to develop and use a basic monitoring and evaluation tool to track and communicate their impact
● Any other work as necessary, including posting about partner activities on The Five Foundation’s Instagram and other social media accounts
● Attend meetings related to The Five Foundation and The Five Fund if/where possible according to their own availability
